INTERIOR DESIGN

Challenge: Sephora is a make-up store that has a distinct style and scheme.  The goal of this is to maintain this style while revamping the overall "look" of the store.  Most importantly, the project requires a new form of display can present the product clearly as well as provide additional storage.  This display form should be innovative, reconfigurable, and dynamic.

 

Solution: Sephora originated in the roots of female strength, beauty, and empowerment, deriving the name from the two prominent figures, Sappho and Zipporah.  Sephora also incorporates their iconic Flame, to represent a woman's enduring spirit.  Makeup should not be a way to hide or obscure features, but to emphasize and accentuate them.  Women should feel liberated and strengthened by their makeup, and in combining this idea with that of Sephora's roots, I developed the concept of "Unleash".  I paired Sephora's "look" with the tasks set forth in the program and utilized terms such as intense, wild, dynamic, trendy, and holistic to create a space that allows women to unleash their inner beauty in a passionate, modern, and exciting new experience.
